Soil Reinforcement Geogrids

Titan USA’s TE-BXC biaxial geogrid composite is designed for base applications as a soil reinforcement solution. It consists of a bi-axial polypropylene geogrid heat bonded to a long fiber nonwoven geotextile.

This biaxial geogrid composite features high-modulus reinforcement properties making it ideal for sites where the soil is saturated and susceptible to piping. The combination of geogrid and geotextile work together to reinforce soil and allow sub-base drainage to maintain structural stability. Additionally, the geotextile works to keep expensive imported material from being contaminated by migration of fines from the saturated base soils.

When granular material is compacted over this geogrid it partially penetrates and projects through the apertures creating an interlocking action between the particles and the grid. This positive mechanical interlock enables the geogrid to resist horizontal shear from the fill, mobilizing the bearing capacity of the soft soil.
